EURES Slovakia at a unique online job fair
On 22 October 2024, EURES Slovakia participated in the online job fair Today’s dream, tomorrow’s reality dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the EURES network.
Jobseekers had the chance to discover the opportunities offered by life abroad. On the occasion of 30 years of operation, the European Employment Services organised for the first time an online job fair and celebration in one. The all-day event brought knowledge from 31 European countries in a dynamic and interactive form.
The event included live discussions and presentations. Jobseekers could learn who European employers are looking for, what the future and trends of mobility are, what are the possibilities of living and working in other EU/EEA countries. They could gain practical knowledge about what life could be like in the country they dream of.
The event was opened by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of the EURES network in the field of intra-EU labour mobility. Throughout the day, viewers could watch:
- countries presentations focusing on key aspects of working life, such as job opportunities, housing and daily life;
- stories from people who have experienced moving to another country;
- interviews, presentations and round tables presenting the range of EURES services;
- live sessions where they could meet with advisers and obtain the necessary information via chat or live broadcast
EURES Slovakia, as part of this event, contributed to the development of cooperation between jobseekers and EURES advisers.
